A design professional by trade, Kate left the 75 hour per week rat race to take on the 100 hour per week career of full time Mom. Always an animal lover, with a special affinity for Weimaraners, Kate began working with a few Florida based animals rescues in her spare time. Through her efforts, she quickly became the first phone call anytime a Weim came into a local shelter. She is known as ‘The Weim lady’. She and her family live by the motto, “Be the change that you wish to see in the world” and try to bring more awareness to people about rescue and adoption no matter what their breed of choice may be. "Don't shop..adopt" explains it all.
Scanning Craig's List daily for Weimaraners in need of rehoming, Kate has mastered the art of owner surrender and foster family networking. These six rescued Weimies were part of our largest single transport of 2016. All six were secured by Kate and fostered by her family and friends until their journey could be planned.
Just as Kate completed construction on her pet resort, COVID-19 shut the world down. Never a quitter, Kate worked tiredlessly to make Sawgrass Pet Resort the major success it is today and continued to rescue those in need.
Shadow, aka ‘Fast Eddie’, a tripod we pulled from Alabama has become a well loved member of Scott's office team. He spends most of his time there delivering love and comfort to Scott's dental patients…and he is a mascot for our rescue and all rescues.
